Executive mentoring differs in many crucial ways from coaching. While coaching is primarily focused on addressing specific developmental needs or challenges, mentoring provides guidance and direction on how to approach business issues, leadership, innovation and communication via an exchange of experiences and scenarios that approach issues strategically.
In particular we specialize in working with executives to enhance leadership effectiveness, staff retention, build high performing teams, affect cultural change in an organization, manage change (in particular, as a result of M&A activity) or approach career progression issues within a defined organizational context. This may entail the development of specific mindsets, perspectives and behaviours as well as provide and facilitate more tangible skill sets needed for the implementation of a process or capability. The coach brings to the table a high level of broad skills and capacities that can be tapped into easily by the executive and he/she also aims to insprire, empower and transform via experiential learning.
Mentoring is aimed at the individual achieving their full potential (both personally and professionally) and includes both guidance and advice on specific tactical business issues and overarching strategic matters.
